Whether you want to come to New Zealand to visit family, and friends or to enjoy the many sights there are to offer. The type of visitor visa that you apply for depends on your purpose for coming to/staying in New Zealand.
General Visitor Visa
To have a visitor visa approved, you need to be able to demonstrate that you have a genuine purpose for visiting New Zealand (i.e., what your plans are while you are here), have sufficient funds to support yourself and everyone included in the application while you are here, and that you are a bonafide visitor.
Parent & Grandparent Visitor Visa
If you are a parent or grandparent of a New Zealand Citizen or Resident, you and your partner can visit family in New Zealand with the option of multiple entry.
In order for a successful application in this category, you must intend to visit your children or grandchildren here in New Zealand, and your child or grandchild must be willing to sponsor you for this application.
Partnership-based Visitor Visa
As the partner of a New Zealand Citizen or resident, work visa holder or student visa holder you could be eligible to apply for a visitor visa based on this partnership. You and your partner must be living in a genuine and stable relationship and your partner must support the application.
Visitor Visa - extension
If you are already in New Zealand and have decided to stay longer than the granted duration of stay due to a change of plans, you may be able to apply for an extension to your current visa.
